Whenever I travel I always try to:
- Avoid eating at chain restaurants I can find at home.
- Got to museums.
- Go to the super touristy spots.
The Seattle Gum Wall is located at the Pike place market. I'll admit, it looked a little sketchy when I was approaching. It's in a weird alley on a hill. But as you may have guessed, I followed my curiosity and survived.
According to some friendly strangers, the good people of Seattle cleaned up the gum wall a few years back but the locals and tourists covered the wall again
It's a heart!
Initially I was extremely disgusted. But then I thought to myself, "you really came all this way and you're not going to put gum on the wall?" I even bought gum in preparation for this trip so I had to commit to it (I never carry gum).
My piece is the blue one on the lower right hand side! Near the drippy drip!
It's an interesting spot to visit . I was there for less than 10 minutes. It's beautiful, but absolutely sickening. It didn't help that I was taking Microbiology when I visited. I wonder how long it took to cover the wall? How long did it take to clean all of this? Maybe I'd go back to try and find my piece or take the cute picture I initially had in mind (EL OH EL, I'm shameless!).
