Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way!
At this point, I should just add chicken and waffle connoisseur to my resume.
Fact: I've had chicken and waffles in every city I've travelled to, with the exception of Los Angeles.
Easily my favorite meal in New York!
We visited the Williamsburg location on a beautiful Saturday morning. The wait wasn't terrible! If I'm remembering correctly, it was less than 40 minutes. We were able to walk around and explore the shops while we waited. They even offered us mini chocolate chip muffins before we left to explore.
Once we were seated out server promptly greeted us and took our orders.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was so chill! Good music playing (Goldlink and Anderson Paak) and everyone seemed to be having a good time.
We both ordered the chicken and waffles.
Confession: When I eat fried chicken I try to avoid the skin. I'm boring, depending on who you ask.
I always like for my food to stand alone. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and so dang tasty! I even ate the skin this time! The chicken was the meal, honestly. The waffles were just there for decoration. I enjoyed the waffles too! They were complementary I should say, not decoration. They served a purpose!
Our meals came with 3 butter spreads. I don't remember all the flavors but I do know that the blueberry was my favorite!
Overall, the next time I'm in New York or Los Angeles I'll make sure to visit Sweet Chick! Next time I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something new! If I lived in either of the places I just listed I could see this being the Sunday Brunch spot when hosting company or linking up with old friends.
