The Blanton Museum

June 25, 2018

The museum is located on The University of Texas Austin campus. There's a cafe on the campus that was fairly quiet which would probably make a nice study spot. Admission is free for University of Texas students and $5 for anyone who has a student ID.

There was an elementary school field trip taking place the day I went so I walked through very quickly (yes, it's possible for me to walk even faster than I already do).

The museum is closed on Mondays and has limited hours normal business hours for the rest of the week. Just make sure to double check their website before you head over!

No tripods allowed in the museum which was no big deal for me. I kept everything in a locker!

When I went in May they were working on opening 2 other exhibits so I was kind of upset I didn't get a "full experience". I think the supplemental/"temporary" exhibits are the best part of museums. I'm sure if the two exhibits were open that would have added at least another 30 - 45 minutes to my stay. When I go to museums I like to take my time and "take it all in" So I can feel like I really got my money's worth, even if it was only $5.

Of the 3 museums I visited while in Austin, this was my favorite! This was the only one I went to and wasn't thinking "why did I pay money for this?"

Some of my favorite pieces + exhibits:

I got your nose! Forgive me, Auntie life = Best life.
